Benito Mussolini, The Man was written by French author Vahdah Jeanne Bordeux in 1927, five years after Il Duce took over the government of Italy. She writes in her preface that this was not meant to be a political book, for or against fascism. The author praises Il Duce with accomplishing the “greatest post-war achievement of any country” and saving Italy from unending disaster. Modernizing the country, making it a clean, orderly and prosperous country.

Vahdah Jeanne Bordeux writes she lived in Italy before and after Mussolini became Prime Minister and “knows” first-hand how his rule has brought order and prosperity out of chaos.

The book has a preface by the Governor of Rome, Prince Ludovico Spada Potenziani, who praises the work as fact, without tiresome details and no historical discrepancies. “The great work that the Duce has done for Italy is described with accuracy.”
